England's poor start in the first innings of the second Test against India

KATHMANDU: England has made a poor start in the first innings of the second Test against India.

By the end of the second day of the Test at Lord's, England had lost three wickets and added 118 runs. By the end of the second day's play, England was 246 runs behind in the first innings. England captain Joe Root is unbeaten on 49 runs.

India's Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets and Mohammad Shami took 1 wicket. Earlier, batting first, India was all out for 364 in the first innings. KL Rahul played a century inning of 129 runs for India.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 83 while skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for 42. Ravindra Jadeja scored 40 runs and Rishab Pant scored 37 runs. The first rain-affected Test in a five-match Test series ended in a draw.
