  KATHMANDU: Fifteen people have lost their lives in heavy rains in different districts of the country since September 25.  The spokesperson of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Bishwaprakash Aryal, said that they lost their lives in the floods four days after September 25. According to him, three people have gone missing and 14 others have been injured during the period. Details of the damage are being collected. Efforts are being made to reopen some closed highways. According to the NEA, 100 people have lost their lives in monsoon-related incidents since June 12. During this period, 44 people have gone missing and 100 have been injured. A girl has drowned at Kulo in Bijaynagar of Maharajgunj Municipality-11 of Kapilvastu district. Binita Dhobi, a 3-year-old daughter of Kamales Dhobi of Shivaraj Municipality-11 Thuniya, drowned on Monday evening, according to police. She died after falling into a ditch while playing on the road. The girl died while she was at home.

  Traffic has been disrupted after the Manpur-Dedhgaun bridge between East Nawalparasi-Baudikali and Tanahu was destroyed by the floods of Kali Gandaki. The flood in the Kaligandaki river on Tuesday washed away the Tanahun side (northeast) section of the bridge. The floods have washed away about 15 to 20 meters of land adjacent to the bridge. According to Chief Administrative Officer of Baudikali Village Municipality, Pradip Chandra Subedi, the bridge has been closed to traffic due to flooding. On Tuesday, the village municipality issued a notice informing the public that the traffic from there has been stopped. The north-eastern part of the bridge has been washed away by the floods in Gandaki after five days of rain. This remote northern bridge of East Nawalparasi connects Baudikali village and Ghiring village of Tanahu.

  Kathmandu: The government has decided to provide one million rupees as financial assistance to the family of Jaisingh Dhami who went missing in the Mahakali River.  According to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, spokesperson of the government and Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, the cabinet meeting on Thursday decided to provide Rs 1 million to the family of Jaisingh Dhami who went missing after the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) fell into the Mahakali River.  Dhami went missing in the Mahakali River on July 31 while crossing the river. His condition is still unknown.  The government has formed a committee to investigate the incident and submit a report.

  Kathmandu: The estrogen vaccine provided by Japan through the Covax facility has arrived in Nepal. Japan had provided 1.6 million doses of estrogen vaccine to Nepal through the Covax facility.   Today, in the last phase, at 9:45 am, 559,360 doses of vaccine arrived in Nepal. Out of 1.6 million doses of estrogen vaccine, 2 lakh 8 thousand 700 doses have been delivered to Nepal on September 20 and 900,000 doses have been received in July last year.
