Oli's letter of explanation to 22 MPs: Silence on the floor cross

KP OLI

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has sent letters of explanation to 22 lawmakers crossing the floor.

The letter, dated July 20, did not mention a cross-floor vote of confidence in Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. However, he has been accused of holding rallies and factional activities against the party and committing criminal acts by joining the opposition alliance against the party's decision.

When Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba took the vote of confidence in Parliament on Sunday, 22 lawmakers, including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, crossed the floor to cast their votes. The next day, a meeting of the Central Committee, chaired by UML Chairman Oli's party leaders, decided to ask 22 lawmakers for clarification.
